New Preschool Playgrounds Honor the Legacy of Judy Hinze

Thanks to gifts to the Judy Hinze Memorial Fund, included in the district’s budget for this project, new preschool playgrounds are soon to open — designed to foster joyful exploration and inclusive early learning.

Judy Hinze dedicated her career to ensuring every child — regardless of cognitive, communicative, or physical differences — had a welcoming place to play, learn, and thrive. Before inclusive education was widely practiced, Judy designed preschool programs that embraced all learners.

Her children shared this beautiful reflection:
